Creative Disruptions with Trash Academy (Mural Arts), 2022-2023
Trash Academy, formally a part of Mural Arts's Climate Justice Initiative (CJI), believes in the use of play and games to invite change and learning. Their work also relies on participatory research, grassroots leadership, community alliances, and campaign policy change.
Collaborators & Campaigns:
- CRCQL Chester Residents Concerned with Quality of Living Ban the Burn campaign to end trash & recycling incineration in Chester.
- Clean Philadelphia Now! Campaign to end illegal dumping.
For these grant-funded projects, I was hired to design and create interactive game apparatuses to engage the public on the local environmental justice issues of trash incineration in Chester, PA, and illegal dumping in Philadelphia.
